It is arguably a better fate to face alone. Alone, but comforted by thoughts of late night laughs and heart-felt confessions. Foolishness and depression are good friends, and the polarizing effect of such a lens once removed blossoms into something much more vivid and much less defined. Something terrifying and yet sublime.

A realization that transient social connections are the currency of a whole and just life. Especially as the sediments of possession and missed opportunities are washed away like dirt from your hands. Soiled fingernails your only reminder.

It's not too late. Only this fate is irreversible. Slowly but surely the logjam in your mind will clear, and thoughts will flow freely. Unencumbered by baggage and fed by spring rains, life will return and once again establish itself on the fertile shores.
