Week 33 - Painting of Izzy

My first honest try at painting. Looks like oil, but actually it was done with a pen/tablet in Painter, it's like photoshop for artists. I loosely based it on a photo of my friend Tracie's baby 'Izzy' (isabelle). Scroll down for a step by step comparison. I had trouble replicating her real hair, so I changed the style. Artists prerogative. I will say that I think I figured out a lot about shading things to give contour, as on the face, which is a big step forward for me.
